From the top of an escalator overlooking a full carousel with the horses and all, as the center piece of the mall, I saw below at the bottom of the escalator a huge canvas on an easel with this great flaming pile of red hair sitting behind it painting – being an artist, I always have top stop to see another artist work . . .On this occasion, not only was I moved, I was awestruck to core core – when I approached this canvas, and the lady painting it, the work was stunning, magnificent . . . I have never seen such detail, accuracy, and incredible color, reflective light, everything . . . The work was greatness – I was humbled. (the owners of the mall bought the original oil for an undisclosed sum). I struck up a brief conversation with this very pleasant lady, wholly unaware what the future would eventually unfold between us – in a couple of years time, Ruth Mayer would be my wife . . . How that occurred to a confirmed bachelor sworn to never marry again, is another story . . .I am honored to introduce and represent the awesome art of my wife Ruth Mayer – she is truly among the greatest of artists whose presence have ever graced this planet. The work of Ruth Mayer, (self published for 45 years) may be viewed in part on her website at www.ruthmayer.com: Ruth Mayer Fine Art Inc.
